Irrigation Advisory Service based on Satellite data

The platform is based on an innovative technology that integrates satellite observations (Landsat, Sentinel and Deimos images) with high-resolution spatial and temporal weather forecasts (Cosmo LEPs model). Irrisat provides daily irrigation requirements maps predicting up to five days ahead. In addition, through simple and intuitive webapp, the system allows analysis of the state of the crop and weather data (evapotranspiration, , rain, temperature, vegetation indices).

The following sequence of operations in IRRISAT is completed in few hours from satellite pass: – Monitoring the crop growth through the analysis of satellite data in the visible and near infrared wavelengths; – Acquisition of meteorological data; – Processing of images for the estimation of crop irrigation requirements by using F.A.O. models; – Integration of the data into a web mapping app available for end users
